How To Mint Colors

To begin the mint sequence, visit https://color.museum/choose. ​

1. Choose a color to mint by entering the specific hexadecimal or by using the color picker.

Note: Standard #RRGGBB notation for colors contains 256^3 combinations, creating a pool of 16,777,216 colors to choose from—but Color NFTs are limited to only 10,000 possibilities via smart contract enforcement. For comparison, there are roughly 15,000 colors in the PANTONE color palettes used in legacy industry for color callibration.

2. Furnish a name for your color or use the one automatically generated for you. Maximum of 30 characters.

3. Write a description to be attached to the color's metadata or generate one using our integrations with OpenAI's GPT-3. Maximum of 500 characters.

4. Once you have reached https://color.museum/mint, connect an Ethereum wallet by clicking the "Connect Wallet" button. Then enter the PIN code to unlock the ability to mint.

Supported Ethereum wallets include Metamask and Coinbase Wallet.

To unlock mint, a PIN code is required. PIN codes can be obtained from an existing Color NFT holder. ​

The current price to mint a color is 0.4 ETH. Compared to historical ETHUSD pricing, the price to mint a color in USD terms is set at a 60% discount to what preseed minters paid earlier in the year.

How to retrieve the PIN code as an existing holder: ​

Visit https://color.museum/mint and connect a wallet holding at least 1 Color NFT to retrieve the PIN code via the 'Get PIN Code' button:
